Aluminum casting manufacturer expands production to BiH

Michael Roberts - 22.03.2010

Slovenian based  company Mariborka livarna maribor has expanded to BiH. The subsidiary company MLM Alutec Bugojno will start producing aluminium castings for its strategic buyers in Europe this year. These mainly include Volgswagen, GM or Opel affiliated groups, as well as various others, with whom MLM has been cooperating successfully the past. One of them therefore invited Mariborska livarna Maribor to take part in the development project of finalising one of the new car models featuring characteristics expected by buyers of new cars in the future: rational fuel consumption, lower weight, greater versatility and flexibility, and a number of other characteristics that became more obvious during the recession.

Mariborska livarna Maribor decided to expand its production into BIH mainly due to the development potential of the country with such rich industrial tradition.

This is actually the continuation of talks on a project that was presented to Prime Minister Mujezinović in January this year, during the working visit to Maribor, and which were discussed with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.

EUR 7.5 million will be required to complete the investment cycle in MLM Alutec Bugojno in BiH, and the new production will create more than 120 new workplaces.

Mujezinović Prime Minister pointed out that this may be a good example and other investors from these countries to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are always ready and open for such cooperation, said the federal minister.
