Getting started

EC and Serbian government will be signing agreement today for 9 projects of about €70 million

Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic and Ambassador of the European Commission Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert will sign a financial agreement between the Serbian government and the European Commission regarding the national programme for the Republic of Serbia which applies to the first component of the IPA funds – assistance to transition and building of institutions for 2009, at 11.00 today  in the Vojvodina government building in Novi Sad.

A total of nine projects, the total value of which is about €70 million, have been approved within this agreement. 

The projects include the reconstruction of the Zezelj bridge, support to the development of the capacity of the Directorate for Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property and implementation of national screening programmes (cancer of the cervix and breast cancer).

The signing will be attended by the Prime Minister of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic and Mayor of Novi Sad Igor Pavlicic. 

At 12.00, the delegation, together with journalists, will visit the Zezelj bridge
