Turkish air quality reported

Themaximum average sulphur dioxide and particulate matter concentration wasrealized in Şırnak and Iğdır respectively 

 

Provincial and district centers having the maximumsulphur dioxide (SO2) concentrations in January 2010 are as followsin descending order; Şırnak, Tekirdağ, Bitlis, Kırıkkale and Hakkari. For thesame period, provincial and district centers having the maximum particulatematter (PM10)(1) concentrations in descending order stated as;Iğdır, Mardin, Denizli, Karabük and Bolu.

 

Limitvalue and warning threshold for sulphur dioxide and particulate matterconcentrations were exceeded

 

According to the SO2 concentrations obtainedfrom the measurement stations in January 2010, Short Term Limit Value (STL)were exceeded in Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Kırıkkale and Şırnak while First LevelWarning Threshold was exceeded in Şırnak. For the same period, according to thePM10 concentrations obtained from the measurement stations, STL Value and FirstLevel Warning Threshold were exceeded in most of the provincial and districtcenters. Provincial and district centers where STL Value was exceeded more thanor equal to 5 days are Ağrı, Bolu, Denizli, Siirt, Batman, Iğdır and Karabükwhile First Level Warning Threshold was exceeded more than or equal to 5 daysis Iğdır.
