Serbia's Jan. budget deficit at less-than-expected 1.5 billion dinars, gov't says

Budgetary revenue was 49.3 billion dinars, five billion dinars below target, and expenditure 50.8 billion dinars, down 13 billion dinars on expectations, the ministry said in a statement.
Most revenue collected was Value Added Tax of 27.9 billion dinars, almost one billion dinars above target.
In 2010, budgetary revenue is estimated at 655.9 billion dinars (6.5 billion euros) and expenditure at 762.9 billion dinars (7.6 billion euros), bringing an IMF-endorsed budget deficit of 107 billion dinars (1 billion euros) for the year. Growth is forecast at 1.5%.
