College of accession negotiations with Montenegro in the European Union, chaired by Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic , held its sixth regular session.
Members of the Collegium discussed the current results and future priorities in the negotiation process, with a particular focus on the opening of the 23rd and 24 negotiating chapters.
In this context, the Collegium approved negotiating position for the opening of the 23rd and 24 chapters relating to the judiciary and fundamental rights, and justice, freedom and security.
It was concluded that Montenegro, with the adoption of action plans, fulfilled the necessary conditions and is ready to welcome the opening of chapters pertaining to the rule of law. In this regard, welcomed the adoption of the law podustavnih representing the beginning of implementation of action plans for 23 and 24 negotiation chapter.
Stressed the expectation that they will open the 23rd and 24 Chapter accelerate the opening of negotiations in other areas that will have a positive impact on the dynamics of the EU accession process.
Also, the Collegium has considered and adopted a negotiating position for the seventh Chapter intellectual property rights.
